Inteha Music Review

'Footpath' may have come and gone but the Bhatts are still in news. From the house of Bhatts comes another quickie (and a reasonably budgeted flick) - Inteha for which the credits read - Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt and Vikram Bhatt. Though this time, 'One Entertainment' joins hands with them in presenting the film. Inteha that has an interesting (though a bit pessimistic catchline) - 'One Of Them Will Die !!, which has caught attention. Ashmit Patel, younger brother of Amisha Patel, is introduced in the movie that also stars Nauheed Cyrusi (Piya Basanti, Supari) and debutant Vidya Malavade. Rahat Indori, who has been doing good work since many years, but still is not very visible in the music scene, writes the lyrics, whereas Anu Malik composes !!

Alka Yagnik, who surprisingly gets to sing just one number in the album, in comparison to current Bhatt camp favorite Shreya Goshal, does well in 'Humsafar Chahiye' in duet with Udit Narayan. A melodious number, as are most of the other songs in the album, it is good, but lags a bit behind when compared to 'Dhalne Lagi Hai Raat'. A beautiful song for two souls deeply in love, Sonu Nigam is at his best in this track that is typically Anu Malik. Shreya Goshal is good, no doubt, but it is Sonu Nigam's rendering combined with Rahat Indori's touching lyrics that steal the show. Use of piano in the places gives that vintage Anu Malik touch. Sonu Nigam sings two more versions of 'Dhalne Lagi.....' as solo tracks (a regular and a sad version) and does well in grabbing it all for himself. Highly recommended !!

Once Sonu Nigam is in form, it is always difficult stopping him from firing all cylinders. Same happens when he combines again with Shreya - this time for 'Ab Humse Akele Raha Jaaye Na' which is written by Praveen Bhardwaj. Aalap during the number is good and there is high probability that it may used as a background piece in the movie. A romantic number again, though it may just be passed off as yet another regular track, as it is a 'Be-with-me-as-I-cannot-stay-alone' kind, it does well in it's placement in the album. After listening to 3 good songs, 'Deewana Dil' does come as a major disappointment as it completely shifts from the subtle romantic mood of the album. The composition seems to be done in one of those bad moods of Anu Malik which doesn't leave much of an impact what-so-ever. Lyrics by Dev Kohli are plain average and Shreya Goshal too seems to be a not-so-good selection for this high pitched number !! Moreover there is not much scope too for the number as it is a 100% situational song. A number that can easily be given a slip.

Ok!! So we have a romantic album in hands and there is no sign of Shaan nearby. Don't be disappointed as he keeps his much awaited date with - 'Yun Hi Dil Ko Agar'. Shaan sings with his usual boyish charm and the feet just start tapping by themselves. Shreya Goshal is good as well.

In sum, 'Inteha' may not be having too many trumps up it's sleeves but can be bought for the sheer pleasure of listening to 'Dhalne Lagi Hai' and 'Yun Hi Dil Ko Agar' !! Wish the film does well, which will automatically raise the prospects of the music sales.
