Haan Meine Bhi Pyaar Kiya Hai Music Review

The wait for seeing the dazzling couple of Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor on screen is finally over with curiously titled 'Haan...Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya' (HMBPK). Akhsay Kumar forms the third side of this love triangle directed by Dharmesh Darshan after Dhadkan. Expectations from the director-actress are high after record breaking Raja Hindustani in this musical love story. HMBPK is produced by Suneel Darshan, who has earlier given two hits - Jaanwar and Ek Rishta with Akshay Kumar. After Raja Hindustani and Dhadkan, Nadeem Shravan and Sameer are roped in again for HMBPK.

The composers rely mainly on the experience of trio of Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu to deliver the goods. The album starts with 'Hum Yaar Hai Tumhare' - a melodious love song by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. Another version of the same number is 'Hum Pyaar Hai Tumhare' where Kumar Sanu gives company to Alka Yagnik this time around. The song is once filmed on Abhishek Bachchan and Karishma Kapoor and the other time it is Akshay Kumar who expresses his love for the blue eyed girl. Lyrics by Sameer are more on the poetry side rather than being plain simple.

'Har Kisike Dil Mein' is a lively duet by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. The arrangement of the song is typically Nadeem Shravan. Another duet by the same pair 'Teri Aankhon Ka Andaz' is a better composition music wise. Though the arrangement is still the same and there isn't anything new to offer, it still turns out to be a hummable number, primarily due to the tried and tested style of song making. An instrumental of the same is also included in the album.

'Zindagi Ko Bina Pyaar' is a very common song and despite the presence of Kumar Sanu is just a drag. Sarika Kapoor who is being mentored by Nadeem Shravan in their projects isn't utilized much in this number and is reduced to giving background vocals for this. Another version is sung by Alka Yagnik but not of much use as the results are still the same.

'Mubarak Mubarak' by Udit Narayan is a congratulatory song on the occasion of a marriage. It is all about 'I WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY TODAY AND FOREVER' kind of a song. The song picks up in the end with the intense rendering of 'Haan...maine bhi pyaar kiya hai' from 'Hum Yaar Hai Tumhare'.

There isn't much to say about this album as first of all there are just five unique numbers out of eight with 'Hum Yaar Hai Tumhare' and 'Zindagi Ko Bina Pyaar' having two versions each and an instrumental for 'Teri Aankhon Ka Andaz'. Having a stamp of one's style over a musical score is no doubt appreciable but at least there should be some kind of different arrangements for a few numbers. Nothing new about the music of HMBPK. In fact the music of 'Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa' and 'Raaz' by the same composer duo have much better content and variety and are far entertaining. It is surprising to have such a 'COME AND GO' kind of average score in a Dharmesh Darshan's movie who has such a good ear for music which was so evident in his earlier flicks.
